ASIM was founded in 1981 and has now about 700 individual members, and 40 institutional or industrial members. Furthermore, because of co-operation with other working groups of the GI, ASIM has also associated members, so that in sum ASIM has about 1200 members. ASIM offers three types of membership:

• Personal membership EUR 35.- /year
• Institutional Membership EUR 75.- / year
• Industry Membership EUR 150.- / year
