In 2010, ASIM is co-sponsoring / co-organising EUROSIM 2010 in Prague. Therefore ASIM does not organise the general ASIM conference Symposium Simulation Technique in 2010. ASIM members are cordially invited to take part at EUROSIM 2010, September 5-10, 2010, and they are specially invited to take part at the ASIM Special Sessions, which are scheduled for September 9 - 10, 2010.
ASIM invites its members to come to Prague in September 2010 and to participate at the EUROSIM 2010 Congress in:
• Contributions to Regular Sessions
• Contributions to ASIM Special Sessions
• ASIM General Meeting (Member Assembly), date tba late
ASIM is organising with SLOSIM, the Slovenian Simulation Society, special sessions at EUROSIM 2010. These ASIM/SLOSIM Special Sessions are scheduled for September 9 - 10, 2010, in order to facilitate industry people to attend the congress:
In order to guarantee a proper discussion and exchange of ideas and approaches, the following contribution types are offered - with and without publication:
Abstract Special Session Physical Modelling, Control and Model Exchange. Physical Modelling is a fast-growing area of modelling and simulation that provides a structured, computer-supported way of doing mathematical equation-based and graphical modelling. With a fast increasing amount of software providers as well as users Physical Modelling is becoming the state-of- the-art for object-oriented component-based modelling of complex physical systems and – in combination with advanced control modelling – it opens a new area in modelling a simulation, allowing e.g. model exchange at a high level. The EUROSIM 2010 Special Session Physical Modelling, Control and Model Exchange addresses any kind of contribution dealing with development of Physical Modelling and with Physical Modelling in the context with Control Modelling and Model Exchange. The subjects may range from Modelica Modelling in practice and theory via hybrid structures in physical modelling until real-time problems in Physical Modelling and modelling libraries. Details see pdf Call.

Advanced and Comparative Approaches in Modelling and Simulation - Abstract. As the field of modelling and simulation matures, a wider uptake of advanced and alternative approaches for modelling and simulation and a comparison with classical techniques have become a big need. The EUROSIM 2010 Special Session Advanced and Comparative Approaches in Modelling and Simulation addresses any kind of advanced approaches and comparative approaches, within a specific application/project, within an application area, or by means of general comparisons and benchmarking.
In the following a (incomplete) list of modelling methods is given, whereby this session should discuss advanced approaches and developments within a method or by combining methods: Classical ODE and DAE modelling, PDE Modelling (and different algorithms for solving, e.g. FEM), Cellular Automata, DEVS Systems, Queuing Models, Agent-based models. Markov Chains, Neural Nets, Fuzzy Systems, etc.

Submission Form for Contribution ASIM Special Session at EUROSIM 2010
Abstract. Academic courses on Modeling and Simulation are offered by many universities and simulation companies all over Europe. The concepts and contents of these courses are quite different because aims, application fields, origin of the audience, utilized tools or the course duration is different. In this situation, it makes sense to discuss the developed concepts, compare different approaches, exchange tools and materials for education. Simulation tools can also be of great benefit for teaching in other scientific areas.
Contributions to this EUROSIM 2010 Special Session on Education in Simulation / Simulation in Education are welcome dealing with: general educational concepts in modelling and simulation, teaching systems modelling, fruitful demonstration examples, short projects for students, tools for education, curricular aspects, academic programs, E-Learning in the modelling and simulation field, simulation tools in education, simulation tools in E-learning, integration of simulation tools in academic courses.
